Regency Gold Open Gown
I made a new regency open gown! I LOVE it especially because it it goes over my other gowns that I've made and I can use it as a mix-n-match piece!

New Colonial Gown
The crazy lady that I am, I decided to start sewing a new gown for this weekend's event on Tuesday.
Here's the pattern and the new fabric. I used the JP Ryan Robe Anglaise pattern view A.
Lucy enjoyed helping me.
By Friday morning this is how far I had gotten.
I can't believe I did it, I finished the gown by Friday afternoon before we left for the event. There will be more pictures to come soon!

British Sailor Tarred Hat
You may have noticed that Ben had a new tarred hat at the San Diego Festival of Sail this year. He made the hat himself!

A New Coat For Ben
In all previous pictures where you have seen Ben wearing a coat, it has always been one that he has borrowed or someone else had made. We are changing that now, and soon he will have a coat that he made himself (with a little bit of help from David and me). This is the coat we will be creating from scratch:

Creating a Regency Gown from the Simplicity Pattern
My friend Rebekah wanted to make her own gown for the Jane Austen Evening so I offered to assist her, since it would be her first article of clothing she's ever sewn.

A New Regency Gown
I have a new gown in the works. In just two short weeks Ben and I, along with several friends, will be attending the Jane Austen Evening in Pasadena. My old blue silk gown is in much disrepair (due to my lack of sewing knowledge when I made it), therefore I felt it was time to make another evening gown.
Here is my inspiration:

I shall be making my gown without the train, as they do not work well for dancing and adapting the sleeves to be the more common pouf version.

Collapsible Camp Table
As Loni's husband and partner in all things crafty and historical, it is my pleasure to guest-write on the Clearwater Cottage blog. As Loni may have mentioned, we reenact the American Revolution. Among our camp equipment, we have for the last two years eaten off a picnic table that we had scavenged from a roadside while visiting friends in Santa Clara. Though by no means perfect, it had a simple design that approximated camp furniture of the Colonial era. However, since it was by no means new when we found it, it has finally given its last performance at a reenactment. The table still stands, but is too weak to travel to and from events, especially since it must be dismantled for transport.

Missing Photos
I apologize for a lot of missing pictures, especially in older posts. I was using PhotoBucket to host my pictures, but they've changed their rules and no longer allow links to them.
I will be re-uploading the pictures, but it may take some time...
