A New Coat For Ben

In all previous pictures where you have seen Ben wearing a coat, it has always been one that he has borrowed or someone else had made.  We are changing that now, and soon he will have a coat that he made himself (with a little bit of help from David and me).  This is the coat we will be creating from scratch:

While we were visiting our friend David over President's Day weekend a big package arrived.  We were pleasantly surprised for it to be the long awaited coat wool!!!

We couldn't open the package fast enough!

Isn't it beautiful!?!?!?!
The boys hard at work!

The everpresent Lucy, always there to guard the fabric!

We worked hard to make sure we did not waste any wool when laying out the pieces.

This is a guide for the layout of all the future coats we will be making.

David made sure the coat has a perfect fit on Ben.

Don't mind the bits sticking out, that will all be taken in for an exact fit...

Day 1 was a success!

Lucky Ben gets to be the first member of our reenacting group to get to make his coat!  We can't wait to get started on coats for the rest of our guys!

Missing Photos

I apologize for a lot of missing pictures, especially in older posts. I was using PhotoBucket to host my pictures, but they've changed their rules and no longer allow links to them.
I will be re-uploading the pictures, but it may take some time...
