Analog Farmville is what my husband fondly calls our "Garden Table." Last spring we decided that we wanted to grow our own plants but didn't want to do it strictly in buckets. Then I remembered a Martha Stewart show where they had made what they called a lettuce table.
This is where I got the idea from:

We had to make some adjustments to the size, because we wanted to fit it into the alcove on our patio so it wouldn't take up much room...
We planted Cilantro, Lettuce, Basil and some Zinneas!!!
Seeds were on sale for 25 cents a pouch at Dollar Tree so we stocked up in case we want to grow other crops!
It was raining, so Ben had to cut the wood indoors.
The frame is made and the wire mesh stapled on!
Attaching the legs.
Built! Now, if only it would stop raining!
Everything is planted, in nice neat little rows!
Our first sprouts!!! Look at how excited Ben is! :)
We loved growing lettuce so much, that we dedicated one whole side to it in the end!
Living in an apartment doesn't mean you can't do normal house owner things, like growing a garden, you just have to be creative! What have you done to make your rental space feel more home-like?
