Creating a Garden for Grandma

For Mother's Day I wanted to create something special for my Grandma.  She means so much to me and I wanted her to feel cherished.  I started describing to Ben my intentions of creating something small that could fit in her little apartment, but something that would be meaningful.  He came up with the great idea of making a miniature garden!  And here it is!

Right as I was packing up the last of our belongings at our rental home the peaches began to ripen and the magnolia tree began to bloom.  I'm so glad I was able to enjoy this, if only for a day or so.

Easter Tree

When I was a child my mother had an Easter tree.  Each year I looked forward to hanging the beautiful eggs and little critters on the white branches.  It was such a great memory that I wanted to create one for myself! 

Dollar Store Fuzzy Bunny Mantle

I was so excited to decorate for Easter this year now that we are living in a house.  I went to the closet and opened up my Easter bin and wa-wa it only had 3 things in it!  Apparently I forgot I did not own much in the line of Easter decor...  Enter the dollar store to the rescue!  My friend told me about these great bunnies she found at the 99 Cent store!

I came across a free Happy Easter banner printable.  Instantly I knew it would look perfect in our country kitchen and would be great at greeting our guests!

Simple Easter Basket

Don't want to buy new baskets that you'll only be able to use for Easter?  You can easily jazz up your current baskets with just a little bit of ribbon!

Tissue Paper Cherry Blossoms

A few years ago (when I still had TV) Martha Stewart did a "how to" for a beautiful Paper Cherry Blossom Display.  I loved it so much, that I just had to make one right then an there and surprise my roommate Cece when she came home with it!

I began by walking around my neighborhood and collecting tree branches that had fallen to the ground.  Lucy loved this because it meant an extra long walk!  Then we headed over to the playground to borrow some sand, and I truly mean borrow because after I enjoyed my project for a while I returned the sand to the playground!

I chose to use pink and yellow tissue paper for my flowers, for a subtle display.

It fit right into our living-room decor!

This was a nice beginner craft that could easily be made in a afternoon and my roommate liked it too!
