The largest thing on my plate has been teaching. The night before the first day of school I received a call from our sub coordinator, she desperately needed a sub to go in and start the school year teaching a Preschool SDC class, my sweet friend had recommended me and of course I couldn't turn them down! So for the last month I've been in the land of preschool!
Then last week I was called into interview for another position, where yet another sweet friend had recommended me, to be what is called a Temp. Specialist. I assist K-3 classroom teachers with their small-er group instruction time for language arts and ELD (it's not small enough for me to really call it small group). It's still not full time, but it is one step closer in the right direction! The best part of all is that I get my own classroom!
The school was built in the 70's and originally all the classes were these huge pods. Eventually walls were added, and now we are left with some very odd pie-shaped classrooms.
I'll be back with updated classroom pictures soon once I'm done with my decorating.
In other news, a wonderful lady from my church donated two huge bags of yarn to my knitting/crocheting group! We are thinking we'll make more sweaters and now hats for World Vision!
Lucy demands that we make more sweaters for her... I hope the kids don't mind a little dog fur!
Ben gave me these beautiful sunflowers for my 1st day back at school (when I went to the preschool). I'm so blessed to have such a thoughtful guy! Thanks Mom for sharing him with me! :)
